Is school one of the most dangerous places for youth - Canada

Many teachers have reported their teaching experiences like walking on egg shells. Many students commit violent acts on school grounds. It can become a handful especially when teacher are just trying to do their jobs.

These teachers have to deal with things such as hitting, kicking, spitting, and throwing tantrums every day if they have bad students. It can make life as a teacher really hard. For the classmates it can actually become quite dangerous to even go to school. Especially if bullies are thrown into the mix. They can actually be putting themselves at risk of being injured.

This only goes for certain students that are an easy target for bullies. This is not at all a universal thing that everyone experiences. Some schools don't have any bullies at all so it really depends on which school and the types of people around you.

When crime statistics increase in usually means it's more the reports going up as opposed to actual crime but in this case in schools it does seem to actually be going up. I don't think school is one of the most dangerous places as these are mostly extreme cases listed. The majority of the time and within my experience not anything close to awful violence happens on a regular basis. When this sort of thing does happen it's often to one person as a one-off situation. So no I don't think school is one of the most dangerous places for people physically. I do believe mentally it influences and impacts people in a much more dangerous way. Peers can tease and make fun of you and can create issues down the road if constantly abused. There is usually quite a mean and judging culture within classmates and if it takes out the wrong person too many times it can really hurt them.

As a final answer I believe it is situational and really depends on the outlook and personality of an individual. Some people fit the right pattern to be picked on or take things to heart. It can be dangerous but I don't think it's a good tradeoff as lots of people don't get affected in this way at all.

Why does crime happen according to crime theory

Crime differs depending on where you are and who you ask. No one is born a criminal unless you have an extreme defect in your head. Obviously something happens to one to turn them into a criminal, but it's not always apparent what that is. if you were to look strictly in Canada it's a result of a variety of reasons and theory's to why people behave the way they do.

One of such ideas is labelled in criminology as choice theory. This is when criminals choose to commit crime selectively, picking situations beforehand and seeing if its really worth it(E.G. The benefit out ways the negatives). This can often but not always occur in areas with lower financial stability. People are conditioned to criminal behavior and can follow the influence.

Theft as a result of lacking money in these poorer conditions is what often takes place. People, after being situated in a poor life for so long can become desperate for things. People can also be led to crime by their peers, being encouraged by one another to fit in. In some cases people commit crimes as a result of another baring issue such as depression. When society labels individuals they can often be led to follow those labels, promoting both discrimination and crime as a whole. Society often strays away from these groups of people.

Now all this is great to know about criminology and definitely reasons as to why people do the things they do. I believe on their own they explain certain factors of crime contribution but it's not really a single definitive answer to why crime happens. And that's because I don't believe it's just a cause of one thing. Situations differ and can lead to many outcomes, including crime. Ultimately I do believe crime really comes down to a combination of issues that lead someone to doing such things. Whether it's being cast down a path or depression etc. There is never a single factor as previously mentioned that causes crime to occur.
